The impact of treating cancer goes beyond an office visit, since patients need support across their whole care journey continuum. OPN works to ensure that people undergoing cancer treatment receive this support, making sure every aspect of a patient’s treatment needs and issues are considered and addressed. 


Patient Referral to an OPN Network Oncologist

OPN Support: OPN reaches out to register patients on myOPN and setup a Virtual Consult which is an opportunity for patients to ask questions of a practicing oncologist ahead of their initial appointment with their treating oncologist.

Initial Appointment with Treating Oncologist

OPN Support: OPN offers treatment education and symptom management support enrollment. OPN Patient Care Coordinators will assist getting labs to treating oncologists and helping patients enroll in financial patient assistance programs. 

Patient Attends First Treatment Visit

OPN Support: OPN offers post treatment programs with pharmacists and nurses to address patient concerns, offer clinical symptom support, give nutrition advice and provide education regarding nausea, anxiety and other side effects.

Patient Undergoes Ongoing Treatment

OPN Support: OPN continues ongoing support for symptom management, nutrition and counseling. It will also curate third party resources for patients such as community services, support groups and verified shopping agencies.
