OPN values its strong relationships with payers, oncologists and others in the healthcare community that all work together to deliver excellent community oncology care and sustainable management of resources.

Joint Initiatives
OPN works with a variety of organizations to develop and promote programs that help improve cancer care. Whether it is for patients being treated by network providers or programs for the payer community to manage its oncology programs, OPN is committed to being a hands on partner for initiatives that advance and improve cancer care and outcomes.
Clinical Trials Partners
Clinical trial partnerships are critical in bringing new study opportunities to community oncologists. As no program will have access to all applicable studies it is imperative that OPN broaden the opportunities for clinical trials and build bridges to those programs that focus on additional promising new therapies. This allows OPN to offer the best opportunities for the patients covered by its network providers.
Oncology Practice of the Future
In partnership with OPN, Blue Shield launched its “Transforming Cancer Care” program In July of 2014. This project had a goal of reimagining the oncology practice of the future through novel partnerships, new compensation models, innovative technology and collaborative, human centered design. OPN developed new work and compensation models in line with this effort while keeping the patient at the center of each effort. This project was another step in the OPN support of the Oncology Care Model. The program was renamed as the “Oncology Practice of the Future.”
Camp Kesem
OPN Healthcare is proud to partner with Kesem, a nationwide community, driven by 5,300+ passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond a parent’s cancer. Kesem provides year-round inclusive and supportive programming for children ages 6 to 18, including its flagship program, Camp Kesem, which operates 130+ free summer camps across the country.
Anova
OPN’s partnership with Anova is pivotal in expanding community access to clinical trial opportunities. Their proprietary AnovaOS platform enables sites or physicians and sponsors to connect and complete study feasibility. AnovaOS matches, activates and enrolls patients in any clinical trial. By partnering with Anova, OPN has expanded network patients’ opportunities for promising new therapies and access to breakthrough treatments. This system can be used to buy drugs, request participation in specific trials or petition for compassionate use on behalf of a patient.

USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center
Oncology patients should have access to new drugs and therapies within the community setting. It is an OPN priority to develop clinical trial relationships with major academic institutions that expand access and availability to all of our community oncology practices. OPN partnered with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2018 to provide OPN covered beneficiaries with access to clinical trials being sponsored by these institutions. The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center serves patients, researchers and sponsors by expediting clinical trials for novel and promising therapies. Initially focused on respiratory therapies, this program also covers digestive and breast cancer trials.
UCI Health
OPN understands that research driven medicine is at the forefront of oncology care, but the clinical trials necessary to advance it often struggle to locate and place appropriate patients. Following its partnership with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, OPN worked with UCI Health to develop a similar program in 2021. This effort offers OPN patients the ability to participate in leading edge clinical research normally limited to a restricted population. UCI Health’s dedication to patient safety and adherence to the National Institute of Health’s rules in conducting research make them a vital and trusted partner.
